Kvinne handler og grønn hane

This one I really like, but only after attempting something completely different on the same canvas, failing miserably, then overpainting with a thick coat of gray and buff white, then tracing and creating without a specific and conscious thought. Same series as the improvised female forms I & II, but more surreal, using even less distinct shapes to steer a viewers interpretation of the painting. 

It's, in essence, a scumbled and pale ground with a ghosted and moving figure that barely emerges from the background. A dense brown vertical mass gives weight and solid ground, while the small hard-edged rooster figure anchor it all and gives it a surreal and additional layer.
