Improvisert kvinnelig form II
Variation over the same topic; improvisation and form recognition. This one was the second attempt, and came out under much more doubt, and a want to replicate the success of version I. That, of course, is a hard thing to do because I not only saw IKF-I as a benchmark, but the feeling of painting it was a benchmark too. Those two together is not possible to achieve again, so this one wasn't finalized before I painted that emotion away, and the energy pushing me towards replica creation was spent and gone.
That said, the thin seam of yellow and turquoise left exposed adds a certain glow, but the blue triangle and the red dots is what turns this abstract into a recognisable form which outside of those three, tiny but significant, shapes are just colours balanced against each other. These shapes were added almost by pure spite, and the blue triangle was not always blue.
I find our lizard brains to be very interesting, puzzling input together and making sense of something that really is nothing at all.
In the post-war gestural abstraction tradition.
