Hildring
This is a blocky patchwork of scraped and layered yellows (mainly ochre, mustard and pale citrine) with a wedge of blue and red breaking the left edge. It builds on the Europa-series, but with less perspective. Palette-knife throughout – resembling a hazy, sunlit field built from flat planes or something appearing from a summer haze.
In the post-war abstraction tradition.
Inspirations: Richard Diebenkorn, Per Kirkeby.
